A search engine is a site that provides a collection
of links to other Web sites and a method of searching some other links in
logical manner. There are two ways for web sites to entered into search engines.
One of them is through user submission
and
the other one is by search engine's web robot. Most of them time it is used
on
user submission for new sites. This process is very easy: the Web developer
will visit the search engine site and enter the data. The developer will then
asked for name, e-mail address of that contact person. When the data has been
reviewed and complete, the site will appear in search result.

World Wide Robots are programs that been instructed
to visit Web sites. The robot also parsed information depends on the programming.
They usually keep a record of the content of the page and any links within
the note. The result of the link content is recorded in a huge database of
information into the search engines. Having everything on the Web catalogued
and indexed is a good idea because it could bring thousands of documents on
subjects right infront of your eyes.

How to submit your site to Yahoo!
1. Locate the most appropriate subcategory for your site within the existing
Yahoo.
2. When you find the subcategory yhat matches the site, click on the URL at
the top of the page. You'll be taken to a web page that asks you to make sure
you selected the most appropriate category.
3. Click Proceed To Step One buttom to begin the process.
4. Enter the title of the site, the URL and a brief description of the site.
Dscription use 25 words or less and try avoiding repeating the title or URL.
Then, press the Submit buttom to proceed.
5. The next step lets you choose categories that would be appropriate for
your site or choose new categories that you would feel better serve site.
Entries are not required. When you are finished, click submit.
6. Put contact information as requested. Use the submit botton proceed to
the final step in the process.
7. Lastly, fill in the blank and describe your site with information. Examples
are web site dedicated to governmental election, an annual arts festival,
or other activities that wont support past a given date. You are also given
opportunity to make comments to Yahoo staff. Click the last submit button
and your done.

2. Enter the URL of your site. You may also add comments
or keywords that describe the content of your page. These are used only for
google information and it does not affect your index.
3. You do not need to submit each individual page.
Google will update on regular basis. Dead links will fade out of your index
when google update the entire index.
4. To help google find the differences between sites submitted by individuals
and those automatically entered by software robots, type the squiggly letters
shown into the box below.
5. click the add URL buttom and your done.
